Correspondence between the Secretary of State for India and the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf, regarding information received from the Saudi Arabian desk at the Unites States State Department. The United States Government informed the British that the Sultan of Muscat (Sa'īd bin Taymūr Āl Bū Sa'īd) had requested service rifles and ammunition, and sought the opinion of His Majesty's Government. The correspondence includes a discussion of the Sultan's military activities in Dhofar [Ẓufār], and provides details of a meeting between the American Consul at Dhahran [Aẓ-Ẓahrān] and the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf.
