This part of Harley MS 624 has been written by Sir Simonds d'Ewes, who compiled the manuscript between c. 1639-1643.

f. 145r: A drawing of king William the Conqueror followed by a short bibliographical text.

ff. 161r-217r: Collectanea Historica with Simon d'Ewes's signature.

Three miniatures in colours:
f. 145r: A half-page miniature in colours of William the Conqueror.
f. 146v: A full-page miniature in colours of William the Conqueror, king of England, giving a letter with a seal concerning the ruling of the city of York to the duke Alan of Brittany.
f. 147r: A half-page miniature of knights with heraldic banners, one of them giving a sealed letter to the group to the right.
