The map shows the Hasa [Al Hasa] region of Saudi Arabia, as well as surrounding states and areas including southern Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrein [Bahrain], Qatar, the Persian Gulf, and western Iran. The map indicates topography and boundaries. A red dotted line depicts two neutral zones: the Saudi-Iraqi neutral zone and the Saudi-Kuwaiti neutral zone.
The map accompanies a letter, dated 20 May 1939, from Hugh Weightman, Political Agent at Bahrain, to Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Trenchard Craven William Fowle, Political Resident in the Persian Gulf. The letter recounts Weightman's visit to the Hasa region. Places that are highlighted in the letter are also underlined on the map in blue crayon. Several place names have been added in black ink. Author and publisher unknown.
