A copy of a letter from Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of the French, to the Emperor [Shah] of Persia [Fath ‘Ali Shāh Qājār], undated. The letter announces the departure of the Persian Ambassador to France [‘Askar Khān Afshār] for Persia [Iran], and promises the friendship and support of France if the Shah will change his policy and expel the enemies of Napoleon from Persia.
The letter was enclosed in HM Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Persia, Sir Harford Jones’s secret letter of 14 September 1810, which was received on 6 February 1811. It is a duplicate of IOR/L/PS/9/68/78.
