Copy of a letter from HM Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Persia [Iran], Sir Gore Ouseley, to the Governor-General of the Presidency of Fort William, Lord Minto, of 19 December 1810. In the letter Ouseley introduces himself as the newly appointed ambassador to Persia and announces his imminent arrival at Bombay [Mumbai], making clear his intention to cooperate fully with Lord Minto in advancing the mutual interests of the British Crown and the East India Company.
The letter was enclosed in Ouseley’s letter of 16 January 1811, which was received on 1 July 1811.
