Copy of a letter from Captain Francis Augustus Collier, senior naval officer of the British expedition to the Persian Gulph [Persian Gulf], aboard HMS Liverpool, to Captain F Lock [Captain Francis Erskine Loch], Captain of HMS Eden, dated 3 January 1820. The letter instructs Lock to proceed to Bahrein [Bahrain] and to demand from the Governor all boats belonging to the ‘Pirates’ that may be sheltering in Bahrein’s ports.
The letter was enclosed in Major-General Sir William Grant Keir’s letter to HM Chargé d’Affaires to Persia [Iran], Henry Willock, of 2 February 1820 (see IOR/L/PS/9/68/245).
