Copy of a letter from HM Chargé d’Affaires to Persia [Iran], Henry Willock, in Tehran, to the Chief Secretary to the Supreme Government of India, George Swinton, of 21 January 1825. Willock reports the impatience of the Persian Government for the settlement of the subsidy account between Britain and Persia, and warns that relations with the Crown Prince of Persia ['Abbās Mīrzā Qājār] would be damaged by the failure to settle the account.
This document was originally enclosed in Willock’s letter to the Secretary to the Political Department of the East India Company, William McCulloch, of 8 February 1825 (IOR/L/PS/9/70/3).
