Copy of dispatch No. 12 from HM Chargé d’Affaires to Persia [Iran], Henry Willock, at Camp Sultanieh [Solţānīyeh], to the Governor-General of India, Lord Amherst, of 22 July 1825. The letter reports the appointment by the Prince Royal [Crown Prince of Persia, 'Abbās Mīrzā Qājār] of a Persian officer, Cossim Khan [Qasim Khan], to travel to Bombay [Mumbai] to solicit the advance of the mission of the East India Company Envoy to Persia, Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir, to the Persian Court, and to accompany Macdonald Kinneir on his journey to Persia.
This document was originally enclosed, numbered 4, in Willock’s letter to the Secret Committee of the East India Company of 10 September 1825 (IOR/L/PS/9/70/39).
