Copy of a letter from HM Chargé d’Affaires to Persia [Iran], Henry Willock, in Tehran, to the new East India Company Envoy to Persia, Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir, of 1 December 1825. The letter reports the departure of the Secretary to HM Mission to Persia, Major George Willock, from Tehran to Bushire [Bushehr] to receive Macdonald Kinneir upon his entry to Persia, and gives details of the composition of the party and Henry Willock’s instructions to George Willock.
This document was originally enclosed in Henry Willock’s letter to the Secret Committee of the East India Company of 31 December 1825 (IOR/L/PS/9/70/64).
