Translation of a letter from the Sirdar of Erivan, Hoossein Khan [Sardar of Iravan or Yerevan, Ḥusayn Qulī Khan Qājār], to Abbas Mirza [Crown Prince of Persia, ʿAbbās Mīrzā Qājār]. The letter concerns military operations in the khanate of Erivan [Russo-Persian War, 1826-1828], detailing the advance of Russian forces towards Erivan and the battles fought between Russian and Persian [Iranian] troops, including details of the numbers of troops involved and casualties sustained.
This document was originally enclosed in the letter of the East India Company Envoy to Persia, Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir, to the Secret Committee of the East India Company of 14 May 1827 (IOR/L/PS/9/70/227).
