Confidential papers acquired by the East India Company Envoy to Persia [Iran], Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir, from his secret informant at the camp of the Prince Royal, Abbas Mirza [Crown Prince of Persia, ʿAbbās Mīrzā Qājār] (see IOR/L/PS/9/71/35). The document contains the substances of the following letters:
- Mirza Saleh [Mīrzā Ṣāliḥ Shīrāzī] to the Prince Royal, detailing his meeting with General Peskavitch [General Ivan Fyodorovich Paskevich-Erivansky, Governor-General of Georgia] at Abbasabad [‘Abbasabad], during which Peskavitch refused to accede to armistice terms agreed between the Prince Royal and Peskavitch’s private secretary, Grebiodoff [Alexander Sergeyevich Gribodoyev] (see IOR/L/PS/9/71/34) and indicated the terms he would be willing to accept for peace
- Peskavitch to Abbas Mirza, in which he refuses Abbas Mirza’s request for either himself or his son, Mahomed Mirza [Muḥammad Mīrzā], to travel to St Petersburgh [St Petersburg] to discuss the war with the Emperor of Russia, and indicates that he himself is invested with full powers to agree peace
