Translation of a letter from Mirza Abdul Wahab, the Moatemed ed-Dowleh [Mīrzā ‘Abd al-Wahhāb Nishāṭ Iṣfahānī, Mu‘tamid al-Dawlah], to the East India Company Envoy to Persia [Iran], Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir, which was received at Tabriz on 11 September 1827. Mirza Abdul Wahab reports the intention of the Shah of Persia [Fatḥ-‘Alī Shāh Qājār] to send the Persian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mirza Abul Hassan Khan [Mīrzā Abū al-Ḥasan Khān Shīrāzī] to London, and that Mirza Abdul Hoossein [Mīrzā ‘Abd al-Ḥusayn Khān Shīrāzī] is to be sent first to announce this intention (see IOR/L/PS/9/71/51). He reports that the latter will accompany the former to Tabriz, from where he will prepare to depart, and requests that Macdonald Kinneir assist him with the necessary papers and letters.
This document was originally enclosed, numbered 2 in dispatch No. 65, in Macdonald Kinneir’s letter to the Secret Committee of the East India Company of 22 September 1827 (IOR/L/PS/9/71/50).
