Duodecimo manuscript volume, written and tricked by Mr John Withie.
Contents:
- ff. 1-17: Arms, tricked by Mr Withie collected from various sources, between 1631 and 1632.
- ff. 18-19v: Family trees of Bardwell and Herbert families.
- ff.20-20v: Church notes and arms, taken by Mr Withie at Bechampton, Buckinghamshire, 16 September 1831.
- ff. 21v-30: Banners, standards, penons, etc. used at the funeral of James I, tricked by Mr Withie.
- f. 32: A drawing of a woman, probably a monument, possibly also taken from Bechampton, Buckinghamshire.
- f. 33v: Names or titles of Officers of Arms in Ireland.
- f. 34: The arms of Sir Richard Whitbourne.
- ff. 34v-35: Names of several Viscounts, 1631.
- ff. 36v-38: Names of the several High-Sheriffs, 1632, with 2 incomplete arms.

- f. 74v: An acrostic poem, on the words ‘Lord, Have mercy upon us’, attributed to ‘N G’
- f. 75: ‘A medecin for an Ague’, which is more like a charm than a medical recipe.
- f. 75v: A doggerel ballad on Prince Charles when he was in Spain.
This manuscript has been bound together with Harley MS 906 at a later date.

The Harley Collection, formed by Robert Harley (1661-1724), 1st earl of Oxford and Mortimer, politician, and Edward Harley (1689-1741), 2nd earl of Oxford and Mortimer, book collector and patron of the arts.
Edward Harley bequeathed the library to his widow, Henrietta Cavendish, née Holles (1694-1755) during her lifetime and thereafter to their daughter, Margaret Cavendish Bentinck (1715-1785), duchess of Portland; the manuscripts were sold by the Countess and the Duchess in 1753 to the nation for £10,000 under the Act of Parliament that also established the British Museum; the Harley manuscripts form one of the foundation collections of the British Library.
