'The Atlas consists of a map of each FU [府], Independent T'ING [廳], and Independent CHOU [州] District, followed in each case by large scale maps of each of the HSIEN [縣] and other smaller districts contained in these. By rough comparisons with other maps the scale of the former seems to be about 1:1,250,000, and of the latter about 1:250,000.' - typescript panel pasted to the front cover of vol. 1.
Includes 2 maps at scale about 1:3,000,000, showing district boundaries and a general overview of the province.The head of each map bears a pencil annotation providing the title in Wade-Giles romanisation.
