This part of the volume consists of copies of enclosures to a despatch from the Government of Bombay [Mumbai] Secret Department to the Secret Committee, Number 64 of 1853, dated 28 October 1853. The enclosures are numbered 3-4 and are dated 3 June to 27 October 1853.
The enclosures relate to the right of the Imam of Muskat [Muscat, also written as Mascat] to certain possessions on the east coast of Africa including correspondence with the French Consul at Zanzibar, Dr J Ludwig Krapf.
Correspondents include Major Atkins Hamerton, HM Consul in the Dominions of the Imam of Mascat.
