Map of Bahreyn [Bahrain] Harbour and the Khaur-el-Bab [Khawr al Bab (a marine channel)].
The map is inscribed: 'Executed in H. M's."Mahi" I.N. [Her Majesty's Schooner Mahi, Indian Navy] as opportunity offered, whilst stationed as Guard Vessel between Bahreyn and Demam [Dammam], from October 1859 to March 1860. By Lieutt. R. W. Whish, H.M.I.N. [Lieutenant Richard William Whish, Her Majesty's Indian Navy]'.
A printing statement reads: 'Drawn and Presented to the Bombay Geographical Society, by R. W. Whish, Lieutt. I.N.'
The map shows coastal and sea features, soundings, reefs, settlements, buildings, vegetation, and cultivation, and gives some indication of relief.
