This item consists of copies of correspondence, consultations, and minutes cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay. These political letters appear in IOR/F/4/2349/123808. The correspondents are the Government of Bombay and Major Samuel Hennell, British Political Resident in the Persian Gulf. It is the second in a series of twenty-four items on events in the Persian Gulf.
The item concerns an interview Hennell had with Sheik Yoosoof ben Ibraheem [Shaikh Yūsuf bin Ibrāhīm] and Sheik Mahomed bin Saeed [Shaikh Muḥammad bin Sa‘īd], two men who had seceded from Bahrein [Bahrain]. Hennell agrees to intercede for them with the Sheik of Bahrein [Shaikh Muḥammad bin Khalīfah Āl Khalīfah].
