This item consists of copies of correspondence, consultations, resolutions, and minutes cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay. These political letters appear in IOR/F/4/2349/123808. The correspondents are: the Government of Bombay; Major Samuel Hennell, Political Resident in the Persian Gulf; and Lieutenant-Colonel George Moore, Military Auditor General. It is the eleventh in a series of twenty-four items on events in the Persian Gulf.
This item concerns Captain Hawkins’ account of table money for accommodation afforded on board East India Company sloop Clive from 16 April to 5 May 1848 to Hennell and his Moonshee [munshi].
