This item consists of copies of correspondence, consultations, and minutes cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay. The correspondents are Major Samuel Hennell, British Political Resident in the Persian Gulf and Captain William Lowe, Senior Naval Officer in the Persian Gulf. It is the second in a series of eleven items.
The item concerns Lowe’s tour of the Persian Gulf in the East India Company sloop of war Elphinstone and his interactions with the rulers, shaikhs, and British Agents of the following places, and information gained there:
