This part of the volume consists of copies of enclosures to a despatch from the Government of Bombay Secret Department to the Secret Committee, Number 29 of 1842, dated 30 March 1842. The enclosures are dated 17 January to 30 March 1842, and consist of correspondence concerning the trade in enslaved people between the East Coast of Africa and various ports in the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea.
The correspondence is mainly between the Secretary and Acting Chief Secretary to the Government of Bombay and the following: the Officiating Resident in the Persian Gulf; the Secretary to the Government of India; the Advocate General, Bombay; and the Senior Magistrate of Police, Bombay.
