This item consists of copies of correspondence, minutes, notifications, resolutions, and consultations cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay. The correspondents are the Government of Bombay and the Government of India. It is the first in a series of five items.
The item concerns the appointment of Captain Arnold Burrowes Kemball to replace Lieutenant-Colonel Samuel Hennell as Resident in the Persian Gulf, and the appointment of Lieutenant Herbert Frederick Disbrowe to replace Kemball as Assistant to the Resident in the Persian Gulf. The political letter at the front of the item also mentions:
