This item consists of copies of correspondence, minutes, and consultations cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay to the East India Company Court of Directors. The political letters appear in IOR/F/4/2550/149197. It is the seventh in a series of sixteen items on the Persian Gulf.
The correspondents are the Government of Bombay and Captain Arnold Burrowes Kemball, Resident in the Persian Gulf.
The item concerns the question of whether the pension previously paid to Aga Mohsin [Āqā Muḥsin] and Aga Ismael [Āqā Ismā‘īl], before their deaths, should continue to be paid to their sisters, Fatima [Fāṭimah] and Rukeea [Ruqiyyah]. It includes a copy of a petition from the two sisters. The situation of the widow of Aga Ismael is also briefly discussed.
The item contains a table of contents (f 505), and the title page (f 504) contains the following references: Draft Number ‘358 - 1854’, ‘Collection No. 10 of No. 84 of 1853. Vol. 7’ and ‘Examiner’s Office’. The collection number was originally given as ‘5’ but this has been crossed out and replaced with ‘10’.
