A copy of a letter from Harford Jones, Resident in Bagdad, to James Short, Surgeon at the Bagdad Residency, sent from Bagdad and dated 25 December 1801.
The letter forwards a copy of Jones’s orders from the Government of Bombay and, in light of Jones’s dispute with the Pashaw [Büyük Sulaymān Pāshā, Governor of Baghdad], asks Short to decline requests for medical assistance from the Pashaw or other members of the Government of Bagdad unless made via Jones.
