This item consists of copies of correspondence, consultations, memoranda, and minutes cited in, or enclosed with, political and military letters from the Government of Bombay. The correspondents are: the Government of Bombay; the Court of Directors of the East India Company; the Military Board of the Government of Bombay; Lieutenant-Colonel Charles William Grant, Superintendent Engineer at Aden; and Lieutenant Bell, Executive Engineer at Aden.
The item concerns the continuance of the works at the main pass at Aden against the orders of the Governor General, and includes extracts of letters showing the orders given by the Military Board.
