Appendices A and B (f 53) contain lists ofActs passed, respectively, by the Government of India and the Government ofBombay. Appendix C (ff 53-64) contains a list of Bills under consideration bythe Government of Bombay. Appendix D (ff 65-146) consists of a detailed reporton jails by the Inspector-General of Prisons. Appendix D is dated 29 August1863 and contains an inserted sheet of corrections (f 66) dated 27 July 1865.

A table of contents listing the headings andsub-headings of the report is on folio 5. In a small number of instances thereare discrepancies in the spelling or phrasing of sub-headings between the tableof contents and the body of the report. In these cases the sub-heading as itappears in the body of the report is included above.
