This part of the volume consists of a copies of enclosures to a despatch from the Government of Bombay Secret Department to the Secret Committee, Number 92 of 1843 dated 26 December 1843. The enclosures are dated 14 September-26 December 1843.
The papers relate to Persia affairs, notably:
- The maintenance of peace on the frontier with the Ottoman Empire including keeping the border tribes ‘in order’
- British-Russian relations in Persia
- The establishment of a Russian military base in the bay of Asterabad [Gorgan].
