The map shows a section of the Euphrates river from Bedairi [Al Budayri] in the west to Nasiriyah in the east. The map indicates hydrology, settlements, and types of buildings. It also contains brief descriptions of vegetation, and provides some indication of relief. The names of towns and villages are included, as well as tribal regions. The map also portrays the Nasiriyah railway and a new road running east from Nasiriyah.
The map bears the printing statement: ‘S[imla].D[rawing].O[ffice]. No. 1808, Feb. 1917’. A further note states: ‘From a sketch by Capt[ai]n. Wilson, R.A.’.
The map is annexed to a report included in IOR/L/MIL/17/5/3270.
