The map sheet is one of two maps annexed to a report included in IOR/L/MIL/17/5/3303. The other map sheet can be found at IOR/L/MIL/17/5/3303, f 381.
The map shows the railways in a section of Mesopotamia and Persia [Iran], from the region around the entrance to the Shatt-ul-Arab [Shatt al Arab] in the south to Mosul in the north and from Ramadi in the west to Shustar in the east. It indicates:
- Hydrology, including seasonal changes and proposed changes to the course of the Euphrates
- Routes of railway lines (various gauges distinguished)
- Settlements and place names
- Basic relief by hachuring.
The map bears the printing statement: ‘S[imla].D[rawing].O[ffice]. No. 2209, March 1918’. It has been signed by Brigadier-General Guy Lubbock, Director of Railways.
