This part of the volume consists of copies of enclosures to a despatch from the Government of Bombay, Secret Department, to the Secret Committee, Number 14 of 1850, dated 2 March 1850.

Folio 446 is an abstract of contents listing the original contents of the despatch. Of the six enclosures listed only three are present in this item, as follows:

• No. 2, the abstract of contents itself
• No. 3, a copy of a letter from Captain Stafford Bettesworth Haines, Political Agent in Aden, to the Government of Bombay, dated 14 February 1850, in which he reports the peaceful and healthy state of affairs in the Protectorate
• No. 4, a copy of a letter from Arthur Malet, Chief Secretary to the Government of Bombay, to Henry Miers Elliot, Secretary to the Government of India, Secret Department, dated 28 February 1850, in which he forwards a copy of Haines's letter.

Enclosure Nos. 1, 5, and 6, listed in the abstract of contents as a copy of a letter from the Government of Bombay to the Secret Committee, dated 2 March 1850 and submitting extracts of Government proceedings relative to affairs in Aden, and copies of the Bombay Overland Times and the Bombay Overland Telegraph and Courier, dated 2 March 1850, are recorded as missing in notes dated 31 October 1906.
