This part of the volume consists of a copy of an enclosure to a despatch from the Government of Bombay Secret Department to the Secret Committee, Number 49 of 1840, dated 22 July 1840.
The enclosure consists of a letter from the Superintendent of the Indian Navy, Captain Robert Oliver, to the President and Governor in Council of Bombay, James Rivett Carnac, dated 9 July 1840. Oliver reports that the boiler makers who had been employed in assembling steam vessels for the Euphrates Expedition have been provided with a passage to Liverpool in the ship Regular. He also states that he is forwarding papers relating to their wages and their original agreement (which are not included in this item).
