- Scope & Content:
- Annual administration report of the Aden Settlement, providing a summary record of the main events and developments in each department of the Administration of Aden during the financial year 1867-68. The report is addressed by Major General Edward L Russell, Political Resident at Aden, to the Secretary to Government, Bombay, and is dated 24 July 1868. It is arranged in twenty-nine numbered paragraphs (Nos. 2-29), some of which include tables of statistics. The paragraphs are mostly grouped by ‘headings’ in the right or left margin of the pages, apart from: paragraph 10 which is preceded by a heading ‘Public works in Military Department’, and paragraphs 11-15, 16-17, 19, 23-27 and 29 which are unheaded. The report was printed at the Education Society’s Press, Byculla, Bombay [Mumbai].
