- This item comprises an abstract of contents to a despatch from the President in Council, Fort William Secret Department, to the Secret Committee, Number 43 of 1842, dated 12 August 1842. The enclosures listed (which are not included in this item) are numbered 3-106 and are dated 10 April-12 August 1842. They relate to political and military affairs in Qing China and Hong Kong. A note from an unspecified later date on folio 65 states that the original enclosures were sent to the Colonial Office.
