An index map displaying the routes described in Volume III, Part I of the series of official publications on Routes in Persia [Iran] produced by the General Staff, India.
The map covers southwest and central Persia, spanning an area between Bandar Dilam [Bandar-e Deylam], Bandar Abbas, Isfahan, Yazd, and Kirman [Kerman]. The routes described in the volume, numbered 1 to 68, are indicated in red, with line patterns indicating different road surfaces. Black lines indicate hydrology, telegraph and undersea telegraph cables, and some routes not described in the volume. Red letters and numbers indicate corresponding Survey of India maps.
The map was heliozincographed at the Survey of India Offices in Calcutta [Kolkata] and bears the printing statement: 'S[imla].D[rawing].O[ffice]. No. 1568, Sept 1916.'
