The map sheet is one of seven maps included in IOR/L/PS/20/C126/1. It shows the names and locations of key settlements and regions during the period of the Babylonian and Assyrian empires. These are superimposed in red ink over a map of the eastern Ottoman Empire.
Portrays hydrology, relief by spot heights and hachures, roads, railways, telegraphs, settlements, ancient canals, place names, and international boundaries. The borders of the Russian Empire, Ottoman Empire, and Persia [Iran] are highlighted in contrasting colours.
The map was published by permission of the Royal Geographical Society.
