This map is one of three map sheets included in IOR/L/PS/20/C202/4.
It portrays an area of south-eastern Iraq designated as ‘Area No 7’ by the British military forces in Iraq, extending from Muhammarah [Khorramshahr] in the east to Kut al Hai [Al Hayy] in the west and from Bagh-i-Shahi [Qasr Baksayah] in the north to Zubair [Az Zubayr] in the south.
The map shows the territorial boundaries of different tribal groups. The names and territories of the main tribal groups are shown in red, while the names and territories of subdivisions within those tribes are shown in black.
Portrays hydrology, settlements, telegraph lines, roads, tracks, and aeroplane landing grounds.
