The map sheet is one of five maps included in IOR/L/PS/20/C104/1, published in ‘Seistan [Sistan]. A Memoir on the History, Topography, Ruins and People of the Country. In four parts. Parts I to III’, (Calcutta [Kolkata]: Superintendent Government Printing, India, 1910) by George Passman Tate. The volume is based on information collected during the Seistan Boundary Commission of 1903-05.
The map shows the approximate movements of the Helmand River, the earliest from 700 AD and the latest from 1866. There are place names and relief detail shown by hachures and form lines. Some hydrography is detailed, including streams and old canals.
