Construction site of the 60-inch building, seen from the west-northwest. The circular wall of the turret is complete and the roof is starting to be assembled. Several truss elements can be seen to the left of the image. Left of centre is a machine, being operated by a person. Behind it is the telescope cradle. In the foreground are two shipping crates covered with corrugated roofing sheets. At the right edge, near the boundary fence, is a corrugated sheeting structure. At least 10 people can be seen. In the background the Modder River is prominent. PLB36_0008 (landscape orientation) and PLB36_0009 (portrait orientation) are similar.
