Interior view of the 60-inch mount being assembled. The polar axis appears in place, suspended by a hook. Two people are visible at the left of the image, next to the south pier. Outside the pit near the top-left of frame, the mount cradle and telescope tube in a wooden frame are partially visible. Other components of the mount are visible in the foreground. The walls of the turret are unclad; in the background, the Administrative Building, 13-inch enclosure, and 10-inch enclosure, can be seen. Written on the plate: "1932 May 16".
