This photograph was taken on the occasion of the Persian Gulf Spitfires naming ceremony, which took place on 11 December 1944 at RAF Bradwell Bay, Essex. The ceremony was attended by Lady Honor Cowell Fowle (widow of Sir Trenchard Craven Fowle). Pictured in the photograph are several RAF officers and a row of spitfires, presumably from the RAF No. 126 (Persian Gulf) Squadron. The photographer is unknown.
