Despatch from the Foreign Department, Government of India, to theSecretary of State for India, No. 43 of 1870, dated 29 July 1870, containingenclosures dated 24-26 May 1870.
The enclosures consist of copies of correspondence relatingto a desire by the Shah of Persia [Shāh of Iran] to establish a Persian navalforce, and his discussions with both the French and British governments aboutpotentially purchasing a vessel-of-war from them.
The correspondents are the British Minister inTehran and the Government of India.
