Despatch from the Foreign Department, Government of India, to theSecretary of State for India, No. 401 of 1869, dated 21 December 1869,containing enclosures dated 24 September-9 December 1869.
The enclosures consist of copies of correspondence relatingto an attack on Bunder Abbass [Bandar-e ‘Abbas] by its former Governor Saeed bin Ahmed [Sa‘īd binAḥmad] in an attempt to re-establish Omani control of the port, and his withdrawalafter occupying the town for a few days and plundering the house of the Persian[Iranian] Governor Hajee Ahmed bin Mahomed Ali [Ḥājjī Aḥmadbin Muḥammad ‘Alī].
The correspondents are: Hajee Ahmed; the PoliticalResident in the Persian Gulf; the Government of Bombay; and the Government ofIndia.
