This item is a collection to Bombay Political Despatch No. 32 of 3 March 1859, from the Secretary of State for India to the Government of Bombay Political Department (the Political Despatch itself is not included in this item). The collection consists of papers forwarded with the Government of Bombay’s Political Despatch No. 34 of 4 November 1859 to the Secretary of State for India. It comprises correspondence from the Commissioner in Sind [Sindh] to the Secretary to the Government of Bombay, relating to the sentencing and imprisonment of six members of the Punjab (also written Punjaub) Police by the Acting Magistrate and Acting Political Superintendent on the Frontier, Sind.
Correspondents include: the Commissioner in Sind; the Political Superintendent, Frontier Upper Sind; the Secretary to the Government of Bombay; the Governor and President in Council, Bombay; the Acting Magistrate and Acting Political Superintendent on the Frontier; the Secretary to the Chief Commissioner, Punjab; and the Commissioner and Superintendent, Leia Division, Lahore.
