- This item comprises copies of a political despatch and enclosures from the Government in India, Foreign Department, to the Secretary of State for India, No. 120 of 1872, dated 10 June 1872. The enclosures date from 10 December 1830 to 27 April 1872 and concern the question of whether Messrs Malcolm and Co, Persian [Iranian] subjects trading at Bushire [Bushehr], are eligible for British protection.
The principal correspondents are: the Government of Bombay, the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf; HM Minister, Teheran [Tehran]; Messrs Malcolm & Co; and the Persian Minister for Foreign Affairs.
