Despatch from the Foreign Department, Government of India, to the Secretary of State for India, No. 212 of 1873, dated 25 November 1873, containing an abstract to enclosures (not present) dated 7 August-25 November 1873.
The enclosures consist of copies of correspondence relating to the prohibition by the Turkish [Ottoman] Government of the exportation of horses from Turkish Arabia [Ottoman Iraq], and the desire of the Government of India that the Ottoman Porte be induced to remove, or at least relax, the prohibition.
The principal correspondents are: the Secretary of State for India; the Secretary to the Government, Foreign Department; the Acting Political Resident in the Persian Gulf; and the Military Department, Bombay.
