- A topographical map of South-East Asia at a scale of 1:5,800,000, showing international boundaries, main settlements, roads, railways and pipelines. The legend is at the bottom of the map. Above it is a Glossary of Malaysian and Indonesian Geographical Terms. Altitudes and depths are shown in coloured contours, with intervals given in a table at the left of the map. There are three inset maps. In the bottom left corner is northern Burma; in the top right corner is Papua New Guinea; and on the right is the Malay Peninsula. Burma and Papua New Guinea are shown as continuations at the same scale. The Malay Peninsula is an enlargement of part of the map, at a scale of 1:3,000,000. In the bottom right corner is a diagram showing the effects of the Mercator Projection in both miles and kilometres.
