- Scope & Content:
- A topographical map of Oman at a scale of 1:1,320,000, showing landscape features, main roads, and tracks, oil fields and pipelines, and major airports. There is an index of place names at the left of the map. There are two inset town plans. In the top left corner is Mutrah; and Muscat is in the top right corner. Both insets are at a scale of 1:8,000. On the right of the map, below the inset of Muscat, are 8 photographs of people and places. At the bottom of the map are a legend and an inset location map. The back of the map has 3 further inset town plans at different scales: Qurm, Ruwi, Salalah, and a further map of 'The Capital Area'. There are two panels in the bottom right of the sheet that form the cover when folded. In addition, there are 5 panels of text about the Sultanate, covering its archaeology, history, geography and visitor information. There is 1 further panel containing a 'Businessman's Guide', which has a selection of useful addresses and information. Published by GEOprojects P.O.
