‘Archangel-Herat Sketch Map’

Printed sheet depicting an area between Archangel, in Russia [Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic], and Herat, in Afghanistan. In addition to Russia and Central Asia, the map shows parts of eastern Europe, Turkey, Persia [Iran], Afghanistan, and India. Portrays hydrology, railways, some roads, settlements, and place names. Some place names have been underlined in red crayon, and a few place names have been added in ink.
The sheet bears the following imprints: ‘S[imla].D[rawing].O[ffice]. No. 2519, March 1919’ and ‘GENERAL STAFF INDIA.’
