Inscribed on mount in Persian: ‘‘amal-i sital das musavvir’ (the work of the painter Sital Das); numbered 15 in Persian.
167 by 106 mm; page 322 by 209 mm.
A lion and elephant battle together, while a crow, jackal and wolf look on. From the story of the crow, wolf and jackal who were in the service of a lion. Only the first part is included up to the fight of the lion and the elephant. It contains the mistake of ‘shir-i bazargani’ (merchant’s lion) for ‘shatr-i bazargani’ (merchant’s camel). (Eastwick (1854), chapter I, story XXI, 154; I.O.R. Pers.Ms 1403, f.64r-64v).
