The traces were used in the compilation of the Transvaal Degree Sheet Series produced by the Surveyor-General, Transvaal, filed at Maps 67352.(2.). All traces are part of block South G-35. Individual traces are sheets P-I, P-II and Q-III. (Note: The published series did not always use this numbering system.)
The traces are at various stages of completion. All sheets portray hydrology, settlements, place names, farm boundaries and administrative boundaries. Some sheets also variously portray relief by form lines, railways, telegraph and telephone lines, roads and tracks, and isolated buildings.
