Sketch map entitled ‘Sketch of the Position of British Force at Bushire’.
The map shows the British Camp at Bushire [Bushehr], including: the position of troop units; the position of the commissariat, engineering and ordnance stores, and Staff Headquarters; the road to the Bushire fort; the road to Shiraz; the road to Rushire [Reishahr] and Halela [Haleh?]; the location of groups of huts; the positions of vessels of war in the [Bushire] creek; and locations of groups of habitations [?].
The original map was by J Wray Captain, Assistant Quarter-Master General, Persian Expeditionary Force. The map is also signed J Holland, Lieutenant-Colonel, Quarter-Master General and is authenticated on the bottom left, Quarter-Master General’s Office, Bombay [Mumbai] 31 January 1857.
